PT BAUER Pratama Indonesia was appointed to construct bored pile foundation for Buntu Kunik Airport Infrastructure by Brantas Abipraya–Passokorang KSO as main contractor. Buntu Kunik Airport, Tana Toraja, is located in Mengkendek District, Tana Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. The 1000 mm diameter bored piles were constructed for culvert box foundation inside the airport area. One of the challenges of the drilling process was the very hard rock drilling with an average RQD value of 90%. Due to hilly landscape, equipment mobilization to project site location was extremely difficult. BAUER utilized one unit of BG 28 in this project. The project was completed on schedule, safely and within budget.
