Taba Penanjung – Bengkulu Toll Road

Bengkulu – Indonesia

Trans Sumatera Toll Road construction project is one of Indonesia’s national strategic projects. The Trans Sumatra Toll Road connects Sumatra Island from Aceh to Bakauheni. The purpose of this project is to improve connectivity, reduce logistic costs, and stimulate industrial growth on the Sumatera Island. PT BAUER Pratama Indonesia was appointed by Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) to execute the bored pile foundation for one of Trans Sumatera Toll Road construction sections, namely Taba Penanjung-Bengkulu Section. BAUER has constructed 769 bored piles having a diameter of 1000 mm and 1500 mm for multiple bridges which spread out in 6 zones along this section. BAUER utilized 2 units of BG 28 to complete this project. Access roads are a challenge during the movement from one zone to another zone due to hilly areas. Access roads to the site become unaccessible during heavy rain. This condition has affected the fulfillment schedule of the project due to delayed concrete supplies from the batching plant. Nevertheles, the project was completed as per contractual requirements.
